Dumb and Dumber 2: The Returns (2025) – Official Trailer | Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels

Dumb and Dumber 2: The Returns picks up 20 years after the events of the original film. Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) has been living in a care facility, pretending to be in a coma for a decade as a prank on Harry Dunne (Jeff Daniels). When Harry visits Lloyd to reveal he needs a kidney transplant, Lloyd finally “wakes up,” and the two reunite in their usual idiotic fashion. Harry then discovers he has a long-lost daughter, Penny, who has inherited a massive fortune from her late mother. However, Penny has gone missing after being conned by Elon Muskrat (a parody of Elon Musk), a tech billionaire who plans to use her inheritance to fund his absurd space project, “DumbX.”

The duo embarks on a chaotic road trip in their upgraded “Mutt Cutts” van to find Penny and stop Muskrat. Along the way, they accidentally join a secret government mission, crash a wedding, and even end up in space after mistaking Muskrat’s rocket for a carnival ride. The climax sees Harry and Lloyd accidentally saving the day by pressing random buttons on Muskrat’s space station, causing it to self-destruct. Penny is saved, but she’s so embarrassed by her father’s antics that she pretends not to know him. The movie ends with Harry and Lloyd celebrating their “victory,” only to realize they’ve left Penny behind in space.
