The dark comedy-drama Nobody Wants This returns for a chaotic second season, picking up right where Season 1 left off. The lives of Ben (Adam Brody), Claire (Kristen Bell), and Vanessa (Justine Lupe) remain as dysfunctional as ever, as they try to navigate career failures, personal betrayals, and existential crises—all while making increasingly terrible decisions.

At the end of Season 1, Ben’s failing startup was on the verge of collapse, Claire was reconsidering her entire life after a disastrous engagement, and Vanessa had just been exposed for committing a major fraud at her publishing job. Season 2 opens with the trio attempting (and failing) to turn things around.
Ben, now completely broke, tries to rebrand himself as a “motivational speaker” despite having no success to speak of. He partners with an equally clueless investor, leading to a series of cringe-worthy and hilarious public speaking disasters. Meanwhile, Claire takes a job at a corporate wellness startup, only to realize it’s a cult in disguise. She struggles to escape without looking like she’s failing at life again.

Vanessa, facing possible jail time, turns to an old flame (played by a surprise guest star) for help, but her manipulative tendencies only make things worse. Desperate to fix her reputation, she joins a self-help retreat—only to realize she’s trapped in a retreat pyramid scheme.
As their problems spiral out of control, the three friends are forced to confront hard truths about their self-sabotaging ways. The season builds toward a disastrous wedding (not Claire’s) where everything that can go wrong does, revealing deep-seated secrets and setting the stage for an emotional yet hilarious reckoning.
The final episode ends with Ben making a shockingly good decision for once—only for the credits to roll before we see if it pays off. Claire and Vanessa, meanwhile, are left staring at an eviction notice, realizing they may actually have to grow up… or scam their way out one last time.
With biting humor and unexpected emotional depth, Nobody Wants This – Season 2 proves that sometimes, rock bottom is just the beginning.
